The results of the screening exercise, which were pasted at the party secretariat in Ilorin on Thursday, showed that several serving lawmakers seeking second and third terms were among those declared “uncleared” by the screening committee. According to the list titled “All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Nomination of Candidates for the 2027 General Election,” only 53 of the 158 aspirants who purchased nomination forms were cleared to continue in the race. In Kwara Central Senatorial District, most incumbent lawmakers seeking re-election scaled through the exercise, except the member representing Alanamu/Ajikobi Constituency, Hon. By: Danladi Na' Allah  Former Senate President and National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, David Mark, has reacted to the defection of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso from the party to the Nigeria Democratic Congress. Speaking during a meeting with ADC lawmakers in Abuja on Wednesday, Mark acknowledged that the departure of the two politicians would have an impact on the party. However, he said the development would also motivate members to work harder ahead of the 2027 general elections. He assured Nigerians that the ADC would continue to present credible candidates capable of competing strongly in future elections. Mark also expressed confidence that the party would emerge stronger despite its current internal challenges.
