Bala Mohammed Reportedly Considers Senate Return Ahead of 2027
By: Maryamu Joshua Maiva
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, is reportedly considering a return to the Senate ahead of the 2027 general elections under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
According to sources, the development emerged during a meeting involving party members, supporters, and political stakeholders, as early alignments for the 2027 elections continue to take shape.
Mohammed, who previously represented Bauchi South Senatorial District before becoming governor, is believed to be weighing a return to the National Assembly at the end of his tenure.
The reports have generated mixed reactions among political observers and residents of the state. While some supporters argue that his political experience could strengthen the party, others believe the move may intensify political competition in Bauchi State.
Members of the APM also expressed optimism that the governor’s involvement could boost the party’s visibility and influence ahead of the next general elections.
However, neither Governor Bala Mohammed nor his media team has officially confirmed the reports.
